Dirty Projectors is an experimental pop band formed by the singer-songwriter Dave Longstreth. It has made several records, including “The Getty Address,” “New Attitude,” “Rise Above,” and “Bitte Orca,” which was released in June. The group appears with David Byrne on the compilation album “Dark Was the Night” and has played alongside Björk and TV on the Radio.
House of Ladosha is a dark-crunk collective whose core members are Antonio Blair, Adam Radakovich, and Ojay Morgan. The group, which creates its music on GarageBand, has performed throughout the city, in venues including Glasslands Gallery, Public Assembly, Studio B, Cameo Gallery, the Annex, and Club Europa.
Jubilee was born Jess Gentile, in South Florida, and moved to New York to d.j. With DJ Ayres and Nick Catchdubs, she d.j.s the monthly party Flashing Lights. She has made mix tapes for Discobelle and the clothing line Mishka. Her EP, “Paypur,” which she made with the producer Udachi, came out in August.
Liturgy is a transcendental-black-metal band led by Hunter Hunt-Hendrix. Its other members are Greg Fox, Tyler Dusenbury, and Bernard Gann. Its début full-length album, “Renihilation,” was released in August and was preceded by a twelve-inch EP called “Immortal Life.”
